FAQ

What is hickory?

Well the thing you have to bear in mind when dealing with the tricky question is there are essentially TWO different types of stripe shirts:

i) Hickory Stripe:

Which has equally sized stripes each approx. 1.5mm in thickness, so both the white stripes & the dark blue stripes (which make up "hickory") are both the same thickness.

ii) Blue/Green/Burgundy/Brown/Black/Navy/Grey Stripe:

The coloured stripes are all 3mm in thickness, whereas the white stripe is 1.5mm, so the stripes are different thickness. It's quite simple really!
There is room for further confusion as there is now Black Pinstripe which is predominantly black with 1mm thick white "pinstripes".
The stripes on all the shirts run vertically.

What's the difference between a solid and a heather? If you have an old pair of jeans which you have washed several times you will notice a certain "whiteness" which comes up from beneath, this is similar to a heather, where the mixture of the fabric , produces a more subtle colour, where as the solid colours are of a brighter nature. The heather is NOT stonewashed or dipped to produce the colour, it is simply due to the mixture of the fibres within the fabric.
